पगली बसंती बयार -
देह से घूमते - लिपटते धूल-कण
गोधूलि की बेला -
लौटते मवेशियों के खुरों से मटमैली होती
डूबती साँझ
उसमें बहते बजते लोक-शब्द
सब लौट आ

अब दाँत से भी नहीं खुलती
राह में इतनी दीवारें कि
घर का पता सब भूल गए

पगडंडियाँ सब बिला गईं

साथ की लड़कियाँ काम-धाम की खोज में
बहुत दूर-दूर चली गईं
न गीत न धुन न थाप न पदचाप
न चौपाल न जामुन-पीपल-महुआ-पलाश के पेड़
दादी के स्वर्गवास के बाद लोरी
नहीँ सुनाई देती
आया हूँ बरसों बाद अपना गाँव
पर ढूँढ नहीं पा रहा अपना वह गाँव
बहुत बदला-बदला सा है अपना गाँव
ईंट-कंक्रीट से बन रहे अपने गाँव में
बहुत बदले-बदले से दिख रहे अब लोग,
- - थमे हुए स्वर, गीत-संगीत, रीति-रिवाज
कहाँ है इस गाँव में मेरा गाँव ?
यहीं कहीं था मेरा गाँव
यह तो रुका हुआ ठाँव है
नहीँ बह रहा मेरा गाँव
हे भगवन,
मेरा गाँव अब तरल नहीँ रहा
